Kitty's Picture of the Day(s)

Postby p0onsta » November 13th, 2009, 9:13 am

Well I'm too lazy to do a build thread, and documenting is just not my thing. So I'm going to attempt to post at least 1 picture every day or few about the car. Let's see how that goes...

Car was brought from Texas to NJ for 1 year, then transferred to CT for half a year, and has been in my possession in NYC for the past 3.5 years. Many good times with it since. Sometimes I hope I've treated it better, but as my first true project car, it's taught me alot. :P

I don't have a camera on me, so here's a picture of the car back when I got it, April 2006. This was actually when the CT owner first got it with the blown engine, about to pull it out.

Shortly after I got the car. The brakes were on their way out when I got the car. After overstressing the squealing brake pads so much that 1 of them fell out of the caliper, I finally got enough money saved up to upgrade the front to the Big Brother of 90s Nissan brakes. Here she is after my first time detailing her.

One of the most obvious differences between old and new cars is the change in lighting trend. I couldn't stand poor lighting, so here it is, my upgraded lighting. Details to follow.

So the output on yesterday's post was achieved by following the instructions here: http://www.clubsdx.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=314 and buying a properly fitted HID drop in kit that places the light source at the correct location. I got the 35W Bi-Xenon H4 5000K kit from ddmtuning.com.

Discussion of proper HID drop in kits can be seen here:

So yesterday I took some time out to wash and wax the car. What do you guys think? This photograph was plagued by poor lighting and High ISO on a point and shoot camera, taken by my gym. Hopefully I can get better pictures of it in time.

Today was pretty much a wheel upgrade day for me.

Hopefully the last time that Kitty will be wearing her OEM shoes... Nice shot of the detail job, finally :)

All packed up and ready to go get the new wheels on!!

Notice how sunk in the OEM wheels are. EWW!!

Much better!! Fitment pics tomorrow 8-)

At the shop awaiting an alignment.

Turns out the shop can't mount 40-profile tires, so after 3 hours of waiting, I brought it to some tire shop to get mounted, then back to the shop for another hour of waiting, only to find out that I need to change the inner and outer tie rods. Alignment still not complete, but set to a point where it's driveable. Will go back tomorrow night.
